The Capron GmbH is a manufacturer of motor homes , based in Neustadt in Sachsen . The company is a production facility of the Erwin Hymer Group for the Sunlight and Carado motorhome brands .

history

The Capron GmbH was established in July 2005 as a joint venture of Hymer AG and Dethleffs GmbH & Co. KG was founded. The company acquired the former agricultural machinery plant in Neustadt in Saxony and adapted the existing production halls to its needs. After the renovation, production started in November 2006 on a 450-meter-long production line with initially 60 employees.

In the course of a few years, awareness of the Sunlight and Carado brands increased , which also resulted in the production figures multiplying and the number of employees. In September 2012 there were over 260 employees in the company who can produce over 5,000 vehicles per year at this location. In April 2013, the 20,000th motorhome since production began. A year later, the 25,000th vehicle left the halls in Neustadt. In October 2017 the company had over 600 employees and manufactured the 50,000th vehicle.
