Capsula extrema

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The capsula extrema is a thin layer of white matter between the claustrum and the island cortex (insula). Association fibers run in it between these two brain sections. In addition, there are tracks in this layer that connect the Wernicke area and the Broca area , which makes it important for language processing.
