The Parque Estadual do Caracol is a nature reserve in the Serra Gaúcha in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul near Canela . The park was created on August 1, 1973 and covers about 200 km².

The main attraction of this easily accessible park is the Caracol waterfall ( Cascata do Caracol ), which falls 131 meters in free fall over basalt rocks .
