Carbia is a Spanish parish ( Parroquia ) in the municipality of Villa de Cruces . It is located at an altitude of about 460 meters above sea level in the province of Pontevedra in Galicia . The patron saint of the place is San Juan . In addition to Carbia itself, the parish of Carbia includes the districts of A Pena, Casal, Pousadoiro and Serrape. The administrative center of the municipality of Villa de Cruces is about 5.3 kilometers east of Carbia. The main source of income for the inhabitants is forestry and agriculture.

A well-known personality of the place is the cyclist Pedro Arreitunandia , who was born on July 24th 1974 in Carbia.
