Carl Johann Friedrich Toeche (* 1814 in Potsdam , † 1890 in Zurich ) was a German landscape painter .

Life

Toeche studied landscape painting with Carl Blechen at the Royal Prussian Academy of the Arts in Berlin from 1833 to 1837 . In 1836 he took part in the exhibition of the Prussian Academy of the Arts in Berlin. Around 1837/38 he was in Paris and studied in Léon Cogniet's studio . In 1838/39 Toeche traveled through Switzerland and Italy, in the summer of 1839 he stayed in Rome. From around 1850 Toeche was based in Zurich and was a teacher of landscape painting.
