Carl Sassenrath (* 1957 ) is one of the core developers of AmigaOS and the inventor of REBOL .

In 1997 he founded REBOL Technologies , which he uses to spread his self-developed programming language. Carl Sassenrath has been an important developer of computer languages ​​and operating systems as well as network computing for more than 20 years. In 1985, after he had completed the core of the Amiga multitasking operating system ("Exec"), he became the main programmer at Apple , HP and Commodore . He was also the founder and president of Pantaray and American Multimedia and co-founder of Videostream Inc. Sassenrath led the development of Internet set-top boxes for televisions and CDTV (the first set-top box with a CD-ROM drive ).

He studied at the University of California and now lives in Ukiah .
