Carlos Alberto Pires Tiny

Carlos Alberto Pires Tiny (* 1950 ) is a politician from São Tomé and Príncipe .

Life

Tiny is a member of the Movimento de Libertação - Partido Social Democrata (MLSTP-PSD). For this he ran in the presidential elections on July 29, 2001, but ended up behind the winner and current President Fradique de Menezes (56.31 percent of the vote) and the former first president after independence , Manuel Pinto da Costa , the 38.73 Percent of the vote received, with 3.26 percent of the electorate being beaten in third place.

He was elected as a candidate for the MLSTP-PSD 2006 member of the National Assembly (Assembléia Nacional), in which he represents the constituency of Água Grande .

On June 22, 2008, Prime Minister Joaquim Rafael Branco appointed him Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in his cabinet. He stayed in office until 2010. His successor was Manuel Salvador dos Ramos.
