Carlos Gómez Casillas (born July 16, 1952 ) is a retired Mexican football player in the position of defender .

Life

In the 1970s, Gómez Casillas initially played for Club León for eight years and then played for one or two seasons each with CF Monterrey , Puebla FC and most recently with Atlético Potosino , in whose ranks he began his active career in the 1983 / 84 ended.

National team

Carlos Gómez made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team in a friendly match played on September 27, 1977, which was won 3-0 against the USA. He played his last international match on January 31, 1979 in the 1-0 defeat against the Soviet Union.

The highlight of his international career was his participation in the Football World Cup 1978 , in which Gómez played the last group game against Poland (1: 3) over the full distance.
