Carlos Gabriel Salazar

Carlos Gabriel Salazar (born September 5, 1964 in Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña , Argentina ) is a former Argentine boxer in the super fly and flyweight division .

Professional career

On October 7, 1995, he boxed in the super flyweight against Harold Gray for the world championship title of the association IBF and won by split judges' decision. He defended this belt the following year against Antonello Melis and lost it in the rematch to Gray.

On December 13, 1996, Salazar won the flyweight title of the WBO when he defeated Alberto Jiménez in round 10 by TKo. Salazar defended this title five times in a row and lost it on August 14, 1998 to Ruben Sanchez Leon by technical knockout in round 8. After this defeat, he ended his career.
