Carlos Rivas (film technician)

Carlos Rivas (born before 1952) is an American film technician at MGM who was awarded three special Oscars in the field of "Technical Merit".

At the Academy Awards 1952 , Rivas received the Technical Achievement Award for the development of an automatic magnetic joining of films. The following year he was again honored with the trophy in this category, this time for the development of a sound reproduction device for magnetic film. 1955 Rivas received the Technical Achievement Award together with GM Sprague for the design of a magnetic sound processing machine.
