Carlos Turcato is a retired Argentine football coach and player on the position of striker .

Life

player

In his homeland, Turcato played in 1948 at CA River Plate . Around 1950 he came to Mexico , where he first played at Club Marte , with whom he won the Mexican championship in the 1953/54 season. In the subsequent Supercup final against Club América on May 16, 1954, he scored the decisive goal for a 1-0 victory in the 56th minute of the game.

Like many other players from Marte's championship team, Turcato left the club after this triumph due to the financially strained situation at the Marcianos and switched to CD Zacatepec , with which he won two more championship titles in the seasons 1954/55 and 1957/58. He also won the Supercup once again with the Cañeros (1958) and in 1957 the Copa México .

Trainer

In the late 1970s and early 1980s he was the head coach of his former club Zacatepec. However, he proved to be less fortunate than when he was active and rose after seven years of membership in the first division at the end of the 1976/77 season when he was responsible for the team. After a brief stint as an interim coach at Atlético Potosino , when he looked after the team for three games between late November and mid-December 1978, he took over the Cañeros again in the second half of the 1980/81 season and led them until the middle of the preliminary round of the season 1982/83, at the end of which Zacatepec was relegated again.
