Carlos Zapata Vela

Carlos Zapata Vela (* 1906 in Veracruz ; † 1990 ) was a Mexican ambassador .

Life

Carlos Zapata Vela was a member of the Asociación de Estudiantes Proletarios (Proletarian Student Association). Vela and a group of activists occupied the Cuban embassy in Mexico City on January 11, 1929 , demanding justice for the murder of Julio Antonio Mella . From January 1, 1967 to February 24, 1967 he was the Mexican Ambassador to the Soviet Union .
