Carmen Lamela (born before 1984) is a Spanish judge and former civil servant. She is currently one of the judges at the Audiencia Nacional .

Life

Lamela graduated from the Pontificia de Comillas University in Madrid with top marks in 1984 . In the late 1980s she worked as a judge at the District Court in Badalona and at the Provincial Court in Barcelona . After this time in Catalonia she took up a position as a judge at the Provincial Court in Madrid . During the reign of the socialists around Zapatero, Lamela was an advisor at the Spanish Ministry of Justice until 2011 . In 2014 she was appointed to her current position at the Audiencia Nacional. At the Audencia Nacional, she deals with, among other things, the cases of Sandro Rosell , which has received much media attention and is accused of money laundering , and the Catalan independence referendum .
