Carmen Stadler

Carmen Stadler (born September 1, 1978 in Dielsdorf ZH ) is a Swiss filmmaker , screenwriter and director . She works in the interest group for Swiss filmmakers.

Career

Carmen Stadler completed her basic training in photography and photography . This was followed by video courses with Franz Reichle and assisting collaborations on his documentary film Monte Grande - what is life? In 2002 she began studying film at the zhdk University of the Arts in Zurich , which she completed with the short film Nachtflattern . Nachtflattern has been invited to various international film festivals and has received several prizes (including Pardino d'Oro for the best Swiss short film at the Locarno film festival , the Suissimage / SSA young talent award and the award for the most successful Zurich short film). The jury of the Locarno Film Festival justified the award as follows: "For a clear view of a couple's relationship in moments of doubt and tenderness."

During her studies she attended advanced training courses in directing, dramaturgy and acting with Stephan Teuwissen. A long-term cooperation began.

Since 2008 she has been a freelance screenwriter, film director, editor and develops treatments and scripts. In 2011 she made the short film reduit with the feature film production , which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival.

The feature film Sekuritas , for which she was responsible for the script, direction and editing, was realized with Abrakadabra Films AG; the film celebrates its premiere in 2019 at the PÖFF Black Lights Festival Tallinn in the competition "Rebels with a Cause".

As a camerawoman she worked a. a. together with Clemens Klopfenstein , Eva Vitija , Patrick Klötzli, Tobias Meier.

She is a board member of the Swiss Film Directing and Screenwriting Association ARF / FDS and a Swiss delegate to FERA (Federation of European Film Directors).
