Carmila is a French shopping center operator. The company was founded in 2014 after the retail group Carrefour took over 127 shopping centers from Klépierre , in which Carrefour was already an anchor tenant. As a result of this transaction, the newly acquired properties were brought into the newly founded company Carmila, along with another 45 existing properties from Carrefour. The listed company is active in the administration of the retail space and continues to have a strong connection to its largest single shareholder (35.8% of the shares) and customer Carrefour. According to its own information, the company is the third largest owner of retail space in continental Europe. The portfolio now includes a total of 214 shopping centers in France, Spain and Italy. Carmila is now part of the CAC Small index.
