Carnal Demise is a Finnish melodic death and thrash metal band from Kuopio that was founded in 2007.

history

The band was formed at the beginning of spring 2007, although the line-up was only completed in 2009 with the addition of singer Jarkko Korhonen. In 2011 the group signed a booking contract with Backdoor Agency , which allowed them to hold more gigs. After the release of a total of four demos , the self-titled debut album was released in May 2012 via Inverse Records . Songs from the album were played on Finnish radio stations such as Radio Rock and YleX . A music video was also created for the song Flatline Fever . In July, the band took part in a festival for the first time by playing on the Suonenjoki 'Rok .

style

Jan Wischkowski from metal.de wrote in his review of the self-titled album that the band plays melodic death metal, but has little in common with other Finnish representatives of the genre such as Insomnium , Children of Bodom and Kalmah , as Carnal Demise is neither particularly atmospheric nor Use keyboards. The group also mixes their Melodic Death Metal with Thrash Metal a lot. The songs were mostly in the higher speed range. The basic structure for the songs are mostly Thrash Metal riffs , which are enriched with solos , melodies and catchy choruses. In the last song the tempo is slowed down and the Thrash Metal part is hardly present, instead there is a "rush of heaviness and melody that mutates to the listener of the album through soft keyboard play and clear vocals".
