Carole FitzPatrick

Carole FitzPatrick (* 1959 ) is an American opera, operetta, lied and oratorio singer ( soprano ).

Life

She studied singing and musicology at the University of Texas . After completing her bachelor's degree , she completed her vocal training with Doris Yarick-Cross in New York. At the same time, Carole FitzPatrick began her musicological doctorate at Yale University .

In 1988 the singer with a doctorate, who had won several singing competitions and was supported by various grants, came to Germany. She received her first engagement at the Städtische Bühnen Dortmund. Engagements at the opera stages in Osnabrück and Nuremberg followed. In addition, she received guest engagements at the stages in Hanover, Wiesbaden, Mannheim, Essen, Graz, Mainz, Bielefeld and at the Deutsche Oper Rhein and Komische Oper Berlin .

The soprano sang all the major roles in her field, including: Micaela, Elisabeth ( Don Carlos ), Luisa, Mimi, Rosalinde, Saffi, Gutrune and Hanna Glawira in the operetta The Merry Widow . Carole FitzPatrick also excelled in several operas by Richard Strauss, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Richard Wagner.

Carole FitzPatrick is a sought-after song, oratorio and concert singer. In doing so, she has gained particular fame as an interpreter of German classical and late romanticism. Her concert tours have taken her to the following countries: Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Russia, Finland, Austria, Spain, France, Israel, Egypt, etc.

Carole FitzPatrik has been Professor of Singing at Herberger College of Fine Arts Arizona State University since 2005 . She keeps coming back to Germany, where she leads master classes, gives concerts and sings as a guest at various opera houses.
