Carolina De Robertis
Carolina De Robertis (* 1975 in England ) is a writer with Uruguayan parents who has lived in the USA since 1985.
Carolina De Robertis grew up in England, Switzerland and California. She began her professional career as a translator of fictional and literary texts, including the books Bonsai by Alejandro Zambra and The Neruda Case by Roberto Ampuero (German Der Fall Neruda ).
Before completing her first book, she worked for ten years for various women's rights organizations that dealt with immigration and rape, among other things.
In 2009, her debut novel The Invisible Voices (orig .: The Invisible Mountain ) appeared, which was translated into fifteen languages. In 2012 she published her second work Perla , which appeared in German the following year.
Carolina De Robertis lives in Oakland , California.
