Carsten Löcker

Carsten Löcker (born February 18, 1961 in Recklinghausen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

biography

Carsten Löcker completed an apprenticeship as a chef after graduating from commercial school and worked in his profession. He then worked as a contract soldier for four years in the catering administration in the Bundeswehr. From 1987 he retrained as a professional driver and switched to local public transport. Carsten Löcker worked for almost 25 years in various functions at Vestische Straßenbahnen . Löcker has campaigned for the interests of employees since he started working as a trade unionist. He becomes a released works council and later works council chairman.

politics

Carsten Löcker has been a member of the SPD since 1985. He followed the advice of his grandfather, a miner, to get involved in the SPD and union. He has been a member of the City Council of Herten since 1999, where he was parliamentary group chairman from 2006 to 2012 and chairman of the SPD city association Herten from 2005 to 2019.

In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 and in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 , he won a direct mandate in the state constituency of Recklinghausen II and thus represents the cities of Herten and Marl as a member of parliament in Düsseldorf. He is a member of the State Parliament's Transport and Environment Committee.

Private

Löcker is married and has had a daughter since 1991. He lives in Herten thistles.
