Carsten Nielsen (born August 12, 1955 in Lyngby ) is a former Danish football player .
Carsten Nielsen moved to the 1976/77 season from the Danish club B 1903 Copenhagen to the German champions in Mönchengladbach. In his first season he only played one game for Borussia. In the following four seasons he was always part of the squad and scored 23 goals for Borussia in his other 108 Bundesliga games in midfield or storm.
During his five years at Borussia he was once German champion (1977) and once UEFA Cup winner (1979). He then played in France, Switzerland (at Neuchâtel Xamax he met his former Borussia teammate Uli Stielike again) and in his home country Denmark.
