The Europaschule Ketzin is a primary school in Ketzin / Havel . The children come from Ketzin and from communities in the near and far.

The Ketzin European School

At the Europaschule Ketzin, around 300 students study in 12 classes from grades 1 to 6.

The basic orientation of the work is "the optimal further development of the place of learning and living in Ketzin". The school is a half-day elementary school with additional offers and an affiliated after-school care center .

The Europaschule Ketzin offers in all three houses of the "Grundschulcampus'" besides individual support with special needs many possibilities for individual learning and creative activity, such as a. Spanish, chess, sports promotion, computers, pottery, theater, cooking and baking, discovering nature, music school, table tennis S etc.

history

Built in 1968 as a polytechnic high school (“Karl Liebknecht School”), it was restructured into today's elementary school after the fall of the Wall . Conceptually renewed and structurally changed, it was called the “Havel Elementary School” in the mid-1990s at the request of the students. It has had the status of a European school since 1999 and has been called the Ketzin European School since then. The school has been a pioneer in the field of early English from grade 1 since the 1996/1997 school year.
