Carsten Winter

Carsten Winter (* 1966 in Berlin ) is a German media scientist. He's since September 2007 Professor of Media and Music Management at the Institute of Journalism and Communication Research of the University of Music and Theater in Hanover .

From 1998 to 2000 he worked as a research assistant at the TU Ilmenau and from 2000 to 2007 he was a university assistant at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt with a focus on convergence management and media development. In addition, from 2000 to 2005 he was spokesman for the "Sociology of Media Communication" specialist group of the German Society for Media and Communication Studies (DGPuK).

In 2007, the Venia docendi for the subject of media and communication studies with the cumulative habilitation thesis on media development and the change in public communication and society at the University of Klagenfurt was awarded.

His main research interests are the change in society, lifestyles and media business models in complex and often contradicting communication process contexts as well as media and music management.
