Casa Lacruz ( Catalan for House Lacruz ) is a residential and commercial building in the Andorran municipality of Escaldes-Engordany in the pedestrian zone Avinguda Carlemany 61 .

history

The building was planned in 1940 by the Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch and completed in 1942. The client was Marian Lacruz Casamajor, founder of the Farmàcia Guerrero pharmacy . This is still on the ground floor today. The building is one of the works that Josep Puig created in his third and last creative period between 1936 and 1942. The material used on the outside is granite stone in the form of irregularly arranged honeycombs in the typical Andorran granite architecture, but combined with elements of the architectural styles of Valencia and Andalusia as well as balconies, verandas, windows and unusual roof shapes. The result was a neo-baroque building.

The property was protected as a monument in 2004 because of the importance of Andorra's granite architecture.
