The Cason Prime Poste is a small island in the south of the Venice lagoon , which belongs to the municipality of Chioggia . It has an area of 574 m² and is located in the Valle Primeposte or Vallesina in the west of the lagoon, in the immediate vicinity of the municipality of Campagna Lupia . There is a single house on the island, but it has been partially destroyed. So the roof has collapsed for years. It's on the Buelo Canal. This type of house is called Cason (e) di pesca . They serve the fishermen (pescatori) as accommodation, storage and landing stage for their boats. 'Casone', derived from 'casa', means 'big house'.

Today the island is occasionally visited by fishermen and now and then by visitors to the southwestern lagoon. In the very shallow waters, however, this is often only possible at high tide. During this time the house is in the water.
