Gottlieb Christian Breiger

Gottlieb Christian Breiger (born October 29, 1771 in Hanover ; † February 7, 1854 in Harburg ) was a German Lutheran theologian, most recently General Superintendent of the General Diocese of Harburg .

Life

Born as the son of a chamber pedel, Breiger studied theology at the University of Göttingen and was first deputy principal in Harburg, 1805 pastor in Celle-Blumlage, 1809 pastor in Rehburg and 1815 pastor and superintendent in Dransfeld . In 1827 he was appointed the first pastor at the Trinity Church in Harburg and general superintendent of the general diocese there.
