The Iron Age Castell Coch ( German  Red Castle ) is a promontory fort east of Abercastle and west of Fishguard on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path on the Pembrokeshire coast in Wales .

Castell Coch is also the name of a castle protected as a Scheduled Monument in the valley of the River Taff about 9 km northwest of Cardiff .

The coastal Promontory Fort (also known as Cliff Castle) Castell Coch lies on the narrow neck of Pen Morfa (also Penmorfa), a promontory on the north coast of Pembrokeshire and has a double system of moats and walls. The earth walls of one of the trenches were supported with stones.

Nearby is the Carreg Samson dolmen .
