Casting Director

A casting director (literally translated: Credits Director ), also called Caster, operates at a casting agency (also casting office), film and television production companies or in the event management and is responsible for the casting .

A casting director works mainly in the fields of film, television, but also theater or advertising. He has extensive knowledge of the actor profession . With the help of current material from the actors ( demo tapes / show reels , photos, vitae, etc.) as well as casting interviews, cold readings, live or online castings, selection lists for the roles to be filled in the respective productions are created and specified step by step. The casting company's client is the film producer , television editor or director .
