Rodrigo Muñoz (full name: Rodrigo Martín Muñoz Salomón ) (born January 22, 1982 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

The popi called Muñoz, who plays in the position of goalkeeper , began his career at Club Atlético Cerro . There he played from 2000 to 2008 and during this time also experienced a relegation from the Primera División after the 2005/06 season and the subsequent immediate resurgence. For Clausura 2009 he moved to Nacional Montevideo , where the 1.81 m or 1.84 m tall goalkeeper, depending on the sources, has been a regular goalkeeper since then, but faced tough competition with Leonardo Burián . Muñoz, made his debut for Nacional in the Copa Libertadores encounter against Universidad de San Martín and completed a total of 82 league and four Liguilla games over the course of his club membership. He was also on the pitch in 19 Copa Libertadores encounters for the Bolsos . Muñoz has accumulated numerous titles at national level in ranks of Nacionals. He was Uruguayan champion twice in the 2008/09 and 2010/11 seasons and won the Copa Bimbo, which was played in the summer months in 2010 and 2011 . His team also finished first in the Torneo Apertura 2008/09, 2009/10 and the Torneo Clausura 2010/11.

Since the beginning of January 2012 he has been in the ranks of the Paraguayan club Club Libertad and made his debut with the Paraguayos on January 24, 2012 in the game against CD El Nacional as part of the Copa Libertadores. In 2014 he became Paraguayan champion with the team. So far (as of July 12, 2016) he has played 158 games (one goal) in the Paraguayan Primera División and played 24 times in the Copa Libertadores (12 times in 2012 , 6 times each in 2013 and 2015 ) for Club Libertad Commitment. As part of the Copa Sudamericana 2013 , he played ten games, reached the semi-finals with his club and failed there against the Argentine representative CA Lanús , who later also won the Copa. Also in the 2014 Copa Sudamericana he came six times in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana five times to train.

National team

Although Muñoz has not yet played in the Uruguayan national soccer team.
