history

For a Minor Reflection consists of the four band members Kjartan Holm, Guðfinnur Sveinsson, Elvar Jón Guðmundsson and Andri Freyr Þorgeirsson.

The band was founded as a hard rock - Cover duo in Reykjavik. After a short time another band member was added and the style of the band changed to indie rock . In 2006, Guðfinnur Sveinsson became the last member of the band. For a Minor Reflection became a blues quartet and later a Pink Floyd co-band. After some time as a cover band, the band began to write their own songs that can be assigned to the style of post-rock.

In 2007 For a Minor Reflection recorded their first self-produced album with the title Reistu þig við, sólin er komin á loft ... (German: Stand up and shine, the sun has risen ...). The album contains six songs, which, typical for the post-rock genre, often reach a length of over 10 minutes. At the same time they went on tour in the USA and Canada .

In 2009 the drummer Jóhannes Ólafsson left the band to concentrate more on his education. Andri Freyr Þorgeirsson became the new drummer for him. In the summer of the same year, the band recorded their second album Höldum í átt að óreiðu (German: Breaking Up Towards Chaos) in the studio of Sigur Rós, together with the American producer Scott Hackwith. Unlike its predecessor, the album has a total of 10 songs, but most of them are shorter than the songs on the first album.

In 2011 For a Minor Reflection played at the Hungarian Sziget Festival in Budapest .
