Castle Ring is an Outbound Wallburg from the Iron Age , the high on the southern edge of Cannock Chase in the village of Cannock Wood in the English county of Staffordshire is. Castle Ring is said to have been inhabited by the Celtic Kornen tribe around the year 50 AD .

With the exception of the surrounding earthworks , only a few remains are visible today. But there is evidence that at some point the land within these earthworks was plowed under the plow. But it is not known whether this happened through the Celts or only through medieval hunters. The latter built a hunting lodge inside the ring, the remains of which are also still visible today.

The site is north of the small town of Burntwood and near the Heart of England Way . It has a good view of Cannock Chase, the River Trent Valley and Staffordshire.

There is also the highest point of Cannock Chase at 242 meters above sea level.
