Cat Mandu
Cat Mandu (also: Cat-Mandu , Mandu ) (* 1995 ; † 2002 ) was a British tabby cat who was elected and named by the Official Monster Raving Loony Party next to her owner as the "party leader".
Career
After the death of Screaming Lord Sutch in 1999, Cat Mandu was elected party leader of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party together with her owner Howling Laud Hope until she was run over in a car accident in 2002. To commemorate her death, the party proposed that all main streets be provided with cat crosswalks.
Surname
The name of the cat is a corruption of Kathmandu in Nepal . A legislative proposal by the OMRLP after her death was that no cat could be called Cat Mandu, as there could only be one with that name.
