Catena Collapse is an emocore band from Norway.

history

The band was founded in Norway in 2002. In the first year of existence, the first publication took place in the form of a demo CD. Several tours through European countries, such as Great Britain, as well as - with Nesting and Hibernation and a live recording of the following tour - two publications followed in the next few years.

In 2006 and 2007 the band released two splits together with Sinaloa from the USA and the Italian screamo band La Quiete . The two records got good reviews and made the band even better known in emo and hardcore punk circles.

Some of the band members played in the emocore band The Birds Are Spies, They Report To The Trees from 2004 to 2007.

style

The style of the band can be described as classic emo . Quiet moments with emotional singing alternate with faster, more aggressive sounds and screaming singing and screaming - both in a song and between songs. There is also a tendency to see some influences from earlier Screamo bands. You can read about the band's sound on Scar-to-ass :

“The sound is somewhat reminiscent of the late 80's / early 90's Dischord stuff. Powerful and haunting music with the now trademarked rambled vocals. "

The band holds back with information about themselves and with advertising and lives the classic DIY principle of the hardcore punk scene.
