Fatesch ( Russian Фатеж ) is a small town in the Kursk Oblast ( Russia ) with 5404 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located about 45 km north of the Oblast capital Kursk on the river Ussoscha, which flows into the Swapa in the river system of the Dnieper .
Fatesch, the smallest town in Kursk Oblast, is the administrative center of the Rajon of the same name .
history
Fatesch was founded as a village in the 17th century.
On May 23, 1779 the town charter was granted as the administrative center of a district (Ujesds), whereupon the place developed into a local trading center for agricultural products until the 19th century.
During the Second World War , Fatesch was occupied by the German Wehrmacht on October 22, 1941 and recaptured on February 7, 1943 by troops of the Brjansk Front of the Red Army as they advanced on Maloarchangelsk and Sevsk .

Economy and Infrastructure
In Fatesch there are small businesses in the food and textile industries.
The city is located on the M2 Moscow – Kursk – Belgorod trunk road - Ukrainian border and on to Kharkiv (part of European route 95 ).
