Catherine Barbaroux

Catherine Barbaroux (born April 1, 1949 in Paris ) is a French politician . She was appointed interim president of the political movement En Marche by Emmanuel Macron on May 8, 2017 . En Marche was renamed La République en marche on the same day .

Between 1981 and 1986 Catherine Barbaroux worked in the cabinet of the Ministry of the Environment and the Economy. She then worked as HR manager at Prisunic and the Pinault-Printemps-Redoute group . In 1995 she was appointed by Martine Aubry as the representative for work and professional development in the Ministry of Labor and held this position under several ministers until 2005. From 2011 to 2016 she was chairman of the Association pour le droit à l'initiative économique , an association that deals with takes care of the granting of microcredit .
