Catherine Boursier

Catherine Boursier (born May 11, 1953 in Le Pressis-Trévise ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste .

Boursier obtained a degree in administrative sciences from the Institut régional d'administration in Metz and then worked for nine years in the General Secretariat for Regional Affairs of Lorraine . She then worked as a specialist advisor in the Cabinet of the Minister of State for spatial planning and industrial restructuring. In the 1990s she was director general of the local authorities of Pont-à-Mousson and Liverdun, after which she headed the office of the President of the General Council in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department for six years . Since 2005 she has been the director of the Lorraine Regional Natural Park.

Boursier has been a member of the PS since 1989. There she was the association secretary for spatial planning and sustainable development in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department. From 1995 to 2008 she was mayor of the small municipality of Champey-sur-Moselle . In May 2008 she moved to the European Parliament for the resigned Adeline Hazan . the following year she resigned from parliament after re-election failed. She has been Deputy Mayor of Champey-sur-Moselle since 2008, where she is also the Finance Officer.
