Cebularz

Cebularz is an onion biscuit from the Jewish kitchen with a diameter of 15 to 20 centimeters, covered with onions and poppy seeds, characteristic of the Polish region of Lublin .

The recipe dates from the 19th century. Even before World War II, it was a famous delicacy throughout the Lublin region. It is now a well-known pastry all over Poland . In 2007, the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development added the biscuits classified as “regional product” (Produkty regionalne) to the “List of traditional products” (Lista produktów tradycyjnych) . Since 2014 it has been one of the Polish products with a protected designation of origin in the EU .
