Cecilia Samartin
Cecilia Samartin (* 1961 in Havana , Cuba ) is a Cuban-American writer.
Life
Cecilia Samartin was born in the turmoil of the Cuban Revolution . Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was nine months old . She grew up there in the suburbs. After graduating from high school, she studied psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles . She worked as a social worker with immigrants and then practiced as a psychotherapist.
Her books have been translated into many languages and have hit bestseller lists in several countries. She is regularly invited to book tours around the world. Cecilia Samartin lives with her family in San Gabriel, California . Her novel Mofongo was published in Germany in 2013 .
