Cecilia Samartin (* 1961 in Havana , Cuba ) is a Cuban-American writer.

Life

Cecilia Samartin was born in the turmoil of the Cuban Revolution . Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was nine months old . She grew up there in the suburbs. After graduating from high school, she studied psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles . She worked as a social worker with immigrants and then practiced as a psychotherapist.

Her books have been translated into many languages ​​and have hit bestseller lists in several countries. She is regularly invited to book tours around the world. Cecilia Samartin lives with her family in San Gabriel, California . Her novel Mofongo was published in Germany in 2013 .
