Cengiz Özyalçın (* 1939 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish soccer player and politician. During his career as a football player studied Özyalçın at the Istanbul University Dentistry . Because of this, the audience also called him Dişçi Cengiz (Cengiz, the dentist) .

Player career

Cengiz Özyalçın played for Emniyetspor and Vefa Istanbul in his youth . Özyalçın played for Galatasaray Istanbul from 1958 to 1961 . In the first season of the new 1st Turkish League in 1959, Özyalçın was runner-up with Galatasaray. For the yellow-reds he played 16 league games in the three seasons. Three years at Fatih Karagümrük SK followed . The striker played three times for the Turkish U-18s in 1957.

Policist career

From 1989 to 1994 Özyalçın was a member of the Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP) mayor of Kadıköy .

Sports official

From 1992 to 1994 Cengiz Özyalçın was a member of the board of Galatasaray Istanbul under President Alp Yalman and was also Secretary General . During Dursun Özbek's tenure (2015 to 2018), Özyalçın was Vice President of Galatasaray.
