Centaurus (magazine)

Centaurus , An International Journal of the History of Science and its Cultural Aspects , is a quarterly scientific journal primarily concerned with the history of mathematics , science , and technology . The European Society for the History of Science is the sponsor .

Centaurus has been published since 1950, but with changing subtitles, and was formerly called International Magazine of the History of Science and Medicine and International Magazine of the History of Mathematics, Science and Technology . Centaurus is currently published by Blackwell Publishing and edited by Hanne Andersen, based in the History of Science Department at Aarhus University , Denmark .

The journal was founded as an initiative of Danish mathematicians (and in the first volume there is an article by one of these mathematicians, Johannes Hjelmslev ).

It has ISSN 0008-8994 and online 1600-0498.
