The Center for International Development (CID) is a leading US academic think tank at Harvard Kennedy School that is active in the field of international development cooperation.

aims

  • Changing the way growth strategies are designed, developed and implemented;
  • Reinventing development policies to facilitate the movement of countries towards more productive activities;
  • Expansion of markets for the underserved and empowerment of the disenfranchised;
  • Improving education, health and other social services;
  • Develop institutions, policies and practices to promote sustainable development that simultaneously meets human needs and preserves the earth's life support systems.

organization

The Center for International Development is headed by the Faculty Director, the Executive Director and a Steering Committee consisting of faculty members. Ricardo Hausmann is currently Faculty Director of the CID, while Marcela Escobari is Executive Director. A total of around 50 scientists and researchers from the Kennedy School of Government , the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, School of Public Health, Medical School, Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Design, Law School and Business School of Harvard University work at CID.
