CentralStationCRM is a cloud-based customer relationship management software from the Cologne -based company 42he GmbH , which was developed in particular for SMEs (small and medium-sized companies) , start-up companies and associations . Equal founders and current managing directors of the company, which was founded in 2010, are Axel von Leitner and Moritz Machner, who in addition to the CRM software CentralStationCRM u. a. have developed the online reservation tool CentralPlanner and the ticket system Central Desk. The company has now grown to 15 employees.

Origin and Distribution

CentralStationCRM was initially introduced on the German market, but the CRM software has also been available for the English and Spanish-speaking countries since the end of 2016. The company 42he behind CentralStationCRM is completely self-financed and has completely dispensed with external funds and investors since it was founded.

technical infrastructure

The CentralStationCRM CRM system was primarily written with Ruby on Rails and is a purely web-based SaaS solution ( Software as a Service ), which therefore does not have to be installed locally or on premise . All personal data such as address or contact details are stored in the cloud on servers in Germany and are thus managed under the German Federal Data Protection Act . In order to optimize the availability of the software, core components such as internet access, mirrored hard disks ( RAID ) or the power supply ( UPS ) have multiple redundancies.

Due to its nature as a SaaS solution, the CRM software itself is used via any web browser and is therefore independent of the operating system, device or location of the user. The data transfer is secured by means of SSL encryption (265 bit).

Product variants and versions

CentralStationCRM is licensed on a monthly basis with no minimum term. The packages that can be booked differ in the number of users, the contacts that can be saved and the available storage space. In addition to paid packages, the company also offers a free version, which is not limited in terms of functionality, but is limited in terms of storage space and the number of contacts and users.

The current version of CentralStationCRM received a fundamental update in April 2018, which accelerated the operating system of the CRM software and, in addition to an improved overview, revised existing features and added new functions.

Interfaces and integrations

CentralStationCRM has an API programming interface which users can use to connect other programs to the CRM software. This interface is stateful according to the REST model. Communication is encrypted using the HTTPS protocol and the actual data is transmitted in JSON format. In addition, the CRM system has u. a. via integrations with mail programs such as Microsoft Outlook or Mail (Apple) , with newsletter , accounting and lead generation software, and with the XING career platform .
