Central Association of German Business Associations for Trade Brokerage and Sales
The Central Association of German Business Associations for Trade Agencies and Sales (CDH) e. V. , as a leading association, represents almost 34,000 commercial intermediaries in all commercial sectors. This includes in particular the commercial agencies as market partners for industry and trade. The CDH is also open to other companies that operate independently in sales. Affiliated are 10 business associations from all parts of the Federal Republic of Germany, seven professional associations and, since October 2013, the business association DIE FRANCHISENEHMER - business association of franchisees . The trade associations of the CDH include industrial representations, trade agencies, authorized dealers, sales engineering offices, merchandisers, etc.
History and function
The CDH was founded in Berlin in 1902. The head office of the umbrella association is the association building "Commerce-Tourism-Service" in Berlin-Mitte. The CDH represents the interests of its members at all levels in the political arena and is a member of many national and international organizations and committees, for example the joint committee of German commercial enterprises and the International Union of Commercial Agents and Brokers (IUCAB) based in Vienna.
With a number of CDH regional associations, the CDH is a partner in eService GmbH , which carries the internet platform for trade and sales handelsvertreter.de . The CDH legally GmbH is to its members as required to offer a society of CDH associations which have joined a legal funding.
Scientific research projects are awarded and funded through the Institute for Commercial Mediation and Distribution CDH eV .
Otto Kern is an important person in CDH history . He had been a member since the 1950s, held many honorary posts, was president from 1968 to 1980 and honorary president until his death in 2009 .
The current president of the CDH is Dirk P. Goeldner, and vice-presidents are Klaudia Stein, Martin Brunner, Ralf Pape and Christoph Stoffel. Honorary President is Horst Platz. Eckhard Döpfer has been the general manager since October 1st, 2010.
