Center Technique des Industries de la Fonderie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Center Technique des Industries de la Fonderie (CTIF) is a French research and development center for foundry technology founded in 1948 and based in the western Paris suburb of Sèvres .

organization

A law of July 22, 1948 defines the legal statutes of the CTIF as the technical center of industry. Its board of directors consists of 17 members who are appointed by the supervisory authority. The CTIF is headed by its general director Philippe Malle, the board of directors and an advisory technical and scientific committee made up of entrepreneurs and academics.

In order to carry out its tasks, the CTIF receives public funds from the supervisory authority and generates its own funds from services. Integrated into the CTIF is the Bureau de normalization des industries de la fonderie (BNIF), which in turn works in conjunction with the Association française de normalization (AFNOR) on the standardization or technical standardization of materials and processes.

tasks

The CTIF is on the one hand a research and development center and on the other hand a service provider for relevant companies. The activities and projects of the CTIF are aimed at developing new products, improving product properties and improving foundry technology, bringing together foundries, users and developers. The CTIF offers services and also develops procedures for them. In Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d'Or near Lyon and in Charleville-Mézières , two laboratories of the CTIF offer metallographic examinations.
