Association française de normalization

The Association française de normalization ( AFNOR ) is the official French body for standardization. She is a member of both ISO and the European Committee for Standardization .

It was founded in 1926 as a registered association (Association Loi 1901) of French companies. A decree from the Ministry of Industry gives AFNOR the exclusive power to approve “standards”.

The AFNOR Group has a network of important partners. These are DQS ( Germany ), DS (Denmark), JQA (Japan), QMI (North America), SQS (Switzerland), APAVE / CPM (APAVE Lyonnaise / CPM Instituto Ricerche Prove Analisi (Medical devices)), COFRAC (Comité Français d 'Accréditation), COPREC (Confédération des organismes indépendants tierce partie de prévention, de contrôle et d'inspection), CSTB (Center Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment), FCBA (Institut Technologique Forêt Cellulose Bois-construction Ameublement) and CERIB (Center d' études et de recherches de l'industrie du béton).

In the course of the 2004 merger of AFNOR with the Association française pour l'assurance de la qualité (AFAQ), AFNOR Certification was founded within the AFNOR Group. AFNOR Certification carries out certification of management systems worldwide , including a. according to ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 , ISO 50001 and the industry quality management standards IATF 16949 , IRIS and EN 9100 .

The German representative of AFNOR Certification is the Berlin-based GUT Certification Society for Management Systems mbH.
