The Center Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l'Europe (CVCE) was a politically and scientifically independent public-law institution based in Sassenheim Castle in Sassenheim , Luxembourg . His central project was the European NAvigator (ENA), the first digital library on the history of European integration from 1945 to the present day.

tasks

Employees from various disciplines ( historians , lawyers , information and documentation specialists, translators , IT experts , graphic and web designers ) work in the CVCE on a variety of tasks related to the ENA - from research to rights management and documentation , Commenting and translation up to the technical and graphic implementation.

The CVCE works with a network of international cooperation partners and is actively involved in the development of digital libraries.

history

The CVCE was founded in 2001. The integration of the CVCE 2015 into the University of Luxembourg goes back to a government decision of June 5, 2015 to restructure the structure of humanities research with the creation of an institute for contemporary history with interdisciplinary status within the university.
