The Centro Comercial do Restelo is a shopping center in the Restelo district of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon .

history

In the 1940s, new residential areas were built in Restelo. To counteract the lack of utilities, the Câmara Municipal of Lisbon commissioned the construction of a shopping center. The architect Raúl Chorão Ramalho built the country's first free-standing shopping center on Rua Duarte Pacheco Pereira between 1949 and 1956.

The mall consists of two symmetrical blocks on either side of the street. The individual shops are on the ground floor. The facade is structured rhythmically by columns. There are apartments on the first floor . The building is adorned with tiles by the Portuguese artist Querubim Lapa .

On December 31, 2012, it was classified as a Monumento de Interest Público .
