Rwanda took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with five athletes, two women and three men, in two sports.
Since 1984 it was the fifth participation of the African state in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
Pierre Karemera carried the flag of Rwanda during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
