Cesare Perfetto

Cesare Perfetto (born July 9, 1919 in Rome , † March 10, 2005 in Bordighera ) was an Italian humorist and author.

Perfetto, a school friend of Enzo Garinei and Giulio Andreotti , settled in Bordighera, where he married and ran a stationery store. In 1947 he founded the “Salone dell'umorismo” there, a festival dedicated to humor, which he set up as an attraction for the region as long-term chairman of the local tourism association. In the years to come, it offered numerous artists their first or renewed chance to present their work to a wider public. The guests included u. a. Benito Jacovitti , Giovanni Guareschi , Dario Fo and Raymond Peynet . With the latter, Perfetto realized the animated film Die Weltreise der Verliebten in 1974 , for which he acted as a director. Up until 1999, Perfetto mainly offered cartoonists opportunities for exhibitions and work shows.
