The Cessna CG-2 is a glider from the US manufacturer Cessna .

history

In order to guide his company through the difficult times of the Great Depression of the 1930s, Clyde Cessna and his son Eldon began building small, inexpensive aircraft models such as the CG-2 in 1930. While such gliders were used to train pilots in Europe , they were used for recreational enjoyment in the United States. Members of the rich upper class pulled the gliders with vehicles and flew them like a powered airplane. At a catalog price of around US $ 400 ( around US $ 5,700 today), the US public could now indulge in this pleasure.
