Nuremberg Chörlein

Chörlein is the name for an oriel extension made of wood or stone on the first floor of a house. Chörlein can be found on castles as well as on town councils and residential buildings. They come mainly from the Gothic and Renaissance periods . The term itself comes from the 18th century.

The city of Nuremberg in particular is known for its many Nuremberg choirs .
